Gitty Daneshvari was an average child, the kind who never made much of a mark academically, athletically, or socially, so it hardly came as a surprise when she was rejected from her school's Talented and Gifted Program. On the contrary, Gitty had long ago accepted that she simply wasn't "special," unless of course you counted her long list of phobias (please read School of Fear for further explanation). Luckily, as Gitty aged, she realized that while she lacked natural talent, there was nothing stopping her from figuring out what she enjoyed and then working hard to become better at it.
Former Contrafilms Director of Development, Gitty Daneshvari is the author of the adult novel The Makedown. School of Fear was Gitty's debut children's book, and it was inspired by her many childhood fears. She hoped that one day they'd help her, and, as it turns out, they did. Gitty lives in New York with her two cats and her bulldog, Harriet.
Carrie Gifford spent many years teaching and directing children's theater before starting Red Cap Cards with her husband. Her signature pencil-and-ink style is inspired by her childhood memories. She lives in Los Angeles. Her website is www.redcapcards.com.
